ABOUT THE EVENT /
The Head of the Quinobequin (queen-oh-beckin), aka "Head of the Q" is a juniors-only, singles-only time-trial-format ("head race") event that takes place on the Charles River on the second Sunday in October. Quinobequin is the Native American name for the Charles River.
The race is a homage to Italy's Kinderskiff. Several of the HOTQ's founders, seeing that race & the 400+ youth scullers competing annually in it, had the realization that to improve sculling in the US, we need more kids sculling. How do we get more kids sculling? Give them more races.
